OTIUM as an acronym becomes important to learning as it sets the foundation for understanding the aspects, characteristics and attributes associated with knowledge. While gaining new knowledge an acronym simply provides a way or an easier way for individuals to recall important information. This is one of the reasons that we want to use OTIUM because learning is the foundational aspect and essential skill needed for successful learning. Plus, it can be frustrating to learn new things. We’re pushing our brains but even though something is hard nothing is greater than reaching a learning accomplishment.
When we achieve highly challenging goals it is an amazing feeling. When we beat our personal records there is a high like no other. Several studies that show that the more ambitious goals that we set the happier we are. When we set our own goals our happiness is not reliant on others. We pick how many hours we practice. We take ownership over what we achieve. Personal development is a way to guarantee serenity, happiness and increase self-esteem. Learning something new keeps our brain cells active. It allows us to succeed at something new and gives us a huge pat on the back.
